BYD is in the final stages of negotiation to determine the location of its new factory, with an official announcement expected in the coming months.
BYD plans to build a plant in Mexico that would create around 10,000 jobs, making it one of the largest car factories in the country.
Electric vehicle giant BYD is in the final stages of negotiation to determine the location of its new factory, with an official announcement expected in the coming months, according to Jorge Vallejo, general director of BYD in Mexico.
A plant of this magnitude would employ more people than some other automaker facilities in the country, such as Audi.
For example, the Volkswagen plant in Puebla has 6,100 assembly line workers and 5,000 supervisory employees, in addition to thousands of people in charge of assembling parts.
