¡This means that the doors are opening to a world full of new investment opportunities!
Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa enthusiastically announced that she has obtained authorization from the National Customs Agency of Mexico, led by General André Georges Foullon Van Lissum, to launch the Strategic Fenced Enclosure of Chetumal, the first of its kind in the entire Yucatan Peninsula.
As the governor explained, this special customs regime allows for the importation of foreign goods for various activities without paying taxes until the final products are sold. This initiative opens doors to foreign trade and strengthens Chetumal’s position in the world, driving job creation and further economic growth.
Mara Lezama emphasized that this opening to international trade will revitalize Chetumal’s image worldwide, accelerating the recovery of the capital’s splendor in Quintana Roo, generating more jobs, and promoting stronger economic growth.
At the meeting where this crucial approval for the economic development of the region was confirmed, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDE), Karla Almanza López, and the Legal Counselor of the State Government, Carlos Felipe Fuentes Fuentes Del Río, were present. A team committed to the prosperous future of the region!
The recent Free Zone Decree, issued by the President of the Republic, establishes the total exemption from the Customs Processing Fee, the General Import Tax, VAT, and ISR. With the start of operations in the zone, a specialized space is offered for the importation, transformation, and distribution of goods.
Furthermore, it allows for the storage of these goods for a period of up to 60 months, as well as the option to gradually sell them and pay the corresponding taxes as sales are made. This represents a relief for entrepreneurs who decide to venture into importation in this new commercial stage for the southern region.
