Mexico strengthened its position as the main supplier of goods to the United States by reaching a new record in the first six months of 2024, according to data from the US Census Bureau.
According to the June report, Mexico’s exports to the United States totaled $249.04 billion, which represents an increase of 5.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
This growth in exports not only strengthens the commercial relationship between both countries, but also widens the distance with other key US trading partners: Mexico now represents 15.9% of US imports, surpassing Canada and China, which They rank second and third with 13.1% and 12.7%, respectively.

In June, Mexico’s exports to the United States reached $42.2 billion, the highest figure recorded for that month, highlighting Mexico’s increasingly relevant role in the US supply chain and its capacity to satisfy the demand of the North American market.
Bilateral trade between Mexico and the United States also showed a solid performance, with a total exchange (including exports and imports) of 415.4 billion dollars in the first half, which represents an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period in 2023. .
US exports to Mexico totaled 166,337 million dollars, consolidating Mexico as the second most important destination for US products, only surpassed by Canada.
