Exports in Nuevo León continue their growth for the third consecutive month.

Las exportaciones en Nuevo León continúan su crecimiento por tercer mes consecutivo.

The entity is consolidating itself as one of the main leaders in exports at the national level, standing out in the first quarter of 2024 with 13,041.8 million dollars, only behind Chihuahua and Coahuila. Caintra Nuevo León has urged to improve infrastructure and logistics to make the most of this export boost.

Monterrey, NL. The export index has exceeded the expansion threshold (50 points) for three consecutive months, demonstrating the strength of foreign sales in the state’s manufacturing sector, according to the Economic Expectations Survey of the Chamber of Transformation Industry of Nuevo León .

In May the export indicator stood at 51.6 points, marking its third consecutive month in the expansion zone, while in April it reached 51.41 points and in March 50.41 points, which coincides with the production of the sector.

In January and February, exports were slightly below the expansion threshold, with 49.95 and 48.95 points, respectively. For this reason, Caintra considers that this year exports have remained firm.

«As the United States’ largest trading partner, we must seize this opportunity by focusing on crucial aspects of trade infrastructure and logistics. We urge the authorities to invest in more modern and agile customs, in the construction of better roads, railways and ports, and to guarantee security in the transportation of supplies and merchandise,” Caintra Nuevo León said in a statement.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) for the first quarter of 2024, Nuevo León ranked third nationally in exports with 13,041.8 million dollars, representing 10.1% of the national total, after Chihuahua with 16,704.4 million dollars (13%) and Coahuila with 15,459.5 million dollars (12%).

In the first quarter of 2024, the entities that contributed the most to exports of accessories, electrical appliances and electrical energy generation equipment were: Nuevo León (28.1%), Chihuahua (14.9%), Tamaulipas (11.5%), Baja California (10.6%) and Querétaro (7.6%). These entities represent 72.8% of the total exports of this subsector, according to Inegi.
