It was in June of last year when Aerus obtained a concession as a new regular air passenger, cargo, and mail transport operator, under the registration of the company Aerotransportes Venturo S.A. de C.V.
The company is part of the conglomerate Grupo Valdez, which has 70 years of experience in the food, tourism, and technology industries, based in the state of Jalisco and has had an air taxi permit since 1985.
What is Aerus?
On its official website, it can be read that it is a regional airline, “based in Guadalajara, which will start operations in the second quarter of 2023 in western Mexico, covering national routes, and subsequently international ones.”
In various news and aviation portals, it is stated that Aerus has an investment of 100 million dollars. In addition, AeroTech Aviation, a commercial unit of general aviation, reported that the new airline from the conglomerate ordered two Beechcraft King Air 350i configured for 12 passengers and four Beechcraft 1900D turboprop aircraft.
These aircraft will join the first three Beechcraft 1900D received by the company recently. Aerus CEO Carlos Valdez indicated, in past months, that they analyzed the options within the market to operate the routes, “it was an obvious decision to choose the Beechcraft 1900D and the King Air 350i from AeroTech Aviation, which will be the cornerstone of the Aerus project.”
Aerus Objective
Aerus aims to meet the needs of regular air transportation, “with the highest standards of safety and quality, in regions of the country that still do not have air connectivity, contributing to the economic and tourist development of the country.”
The new airline will have its operational base at the Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Airport, in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco; generating 550 direct jobs in its final stage of the first phase.
Aerus Goals
In 1990, Aerus operated as an air taxi permit holder based in Jalisco, and in this new stage, its goal is to cover routes that no other airline currently operates and offer a variety of frequencies, to position itself as a regional business model and thus become a working partner for its clients,” the airline stated a few months ago.
By 2030, the company’s goal is to cover the entire country, in addition to operating international flights, and the company will use next-generation Beechcraft equipment, seeking to reduce CO2/Carbon emissions by 50% by 2033.
